About Shelsy
Bringing a smile to a childâ??s face is the most wonderful feeling you could have; being a mother is a dream come true. Having a childâ??s happiness in your hands and not being able to do much can not only be stressful but also feeling lack of potential. I am a mother and I have a wonderful 6 year old girl, her name is Shelsy Ramirez, My daughter has a medical condition that makes her very unique from many kids. She has a medical diagnosis of Schizencephaly, it is a congenital disorder characterized by the presence of abnormal slits/clefts in the cerebral hemispheres. Shelsy is currently on therapies such as for speech, physical movements, and occupational therapyâ??s. She is a very noble and easy to love little girl, some way her sweetness attracts people to have love for her. My daughter is very smart in her own way, she understands when youâ??re talking to her and makes noises to try to respond to you. Somehow sometimes she gets impatient for not being able to speak or walk. A way to communicate with her is the knowledge of her facial s and her eyes pointing different directions, this are the ways Shelsy expresses her feelings and desires. Shelsy needs support for pretty much everything to eat, to go from one place to another, and to shower. She does not walk or talk but yet still no one loses hope that maybe just maybe one day our wishes come true. This is why the desire for Shelsy to have her bicycle is extremely important for many of us; we all know this is going to help her emotionally and physically. The bicycle is there to help her get strength and to help her with her back strength as well. This could be another therapy for her hands and finger, and basically for her whole body, especially for her to try to control her head that she cannot pick up without help. When Shelsy sees other kids playing in bicycles or in other objects that kids use her face loses her color and my heart feels broken knowing that my daughter wishes to be with them playing the way they do. This is why we would love to get help to at least make Shelsyâ??s life a little different, she is a little girl that never gives up and no matter what the situation can be she will try to fight her disorder and prove that she is capable of anything. My name is Guadalupe Chaidez and me and my husband Heriberto Ramirez as parents we both would like to ask each every one of you to please help us change our daughterâ??s life and make a marvelous change in Shelsyâ??s progress. If anyone could please help us get our daughter her bicycle we would appreciate it very much but more than anything our daughter will appreciate it the most. God bless each and one you and thank you for your support.

Sincerely, Guadalupe Chaidez , Heriberto Ramirez
